Day ten

When we found the Ice Barn online, it appeared to be out on a lonely piece of land by itself.  But it really sits between two other buildings that were the original fishersmen's cottages, each a duplex that has now been converted back into single family holiday cottages.  The photo's on line where much like this one below hiding any other buildings.

Here is the front of the Ice Barn.  It  is three stories tall and when you go in this door to the right where the double doors are is the master bedroom with an en suite bathroom.

This photo is taken going out the double doors from the ground floor kitchen.  The photo yesterday where I showed you how thick the walls are, is where I am standing.  This is our garage.  One side is filled with wood for the wood stove and the other is for the car and a very skinny driver.

This is looking back at the kitchen entry.  And Micah we don't have the mini yet.  Not until your Dad proves himself!  Right now it is a Vauxhal, automatic and Dad thinks it is easy to drive.  If all goes well they will lease the Mini in January.
The window on the right side upstairs is one of the windows in the bedroom we are using as the office.

This photo shows how very close the house next door is.  The arch on the left is the door out of our living area and the path goes directly down to the water.
Looking out the door to right, the house on the other side of the Ice Barn is where our neighbors from the US will be living.  They arrive next week so it will be nice to meet them.

This is the lower view of the Ice Barn, showing you both houses on each side.

The house on the left of us is owned by the same people that own the Ice Barn and is kept for a Holiday house.

This is our view from the living room.

This is a fourth house on the same property and is owned by a retired lady.  Robb has met her as she took some of our mail before we arrived.

This is the side view of the Ice Barn and you can see the odd second story windows.  There are two small bedrooms here.

This is front of the next door neighbors house.

There you have it, an outside tour of the houses.  The property sits down the hill on the water and we have a field with three horses just above us.  There is also a five week old colt but I haven't been able to get a photo of him yet.  I'll try again tomorrow.  As you can see the day was beautiful but cold, but we pretty much stayed in due to our colds.  They are predicting a storm tonight and tomorrow with snow in the North of Scotland, it will be interesting to see what we wake up to.
Good night and Love to all,
Dawn
